Xpandable Patch repairs parted casing
Saltel patch in combination with cement squeeze allows high-pressure / high-volume stimulation, after fixing parted casing section

Context
The client needed to isolate a troublesome parted collar section at 11,068 ft [3,373m] in a 5.5in #23 lbs/ft casing. Since the client had already planned to fracture the well, they needed to regain as much of initial casing integrity possible. They first performed a remedial cementing job to act both as a barrier and a receptacle, to support a further stainless steel high-pressure inner-lining solution. The client finally selected Saltel Xpandable steel Patch.

Solution
Saltel Industries provided a 5.5in patch, reinforced. A second elastomer skin extremity was added at the top of the patch, bringing redundancy on the total amount of elastomer ribs. This additional sealing extremity aimed at increasing both sealing and anchoring capability, and drastically mitigating the consequences of erosion during fracturing operations. Considered the high setting and operating downhole temperatures (280 and 316 degF), and the high volumes pumped during the stimulation, this dual sealing extremity at the top of the patch addressed a significant concern for the client.
