Saltel expandable steel packer is an annular seal between the borehole and the casing. Saltel stainless expandable steel packer provides an effective seal between annulus sections by expanding permanently.

Open-hole annulus isolation packers are downhole barriers that provide annular zonal isolation in a wellbore. These packers allow for overcoming many of the issues associated with primary cementing operations. External packers are effective, for instance, in cases of inadequate zonal isolation, poor cement bond, loss zones, or channeling.

Steel annular seals are settable in simple and complex well environments to provide strong separation of different zones. Additionally, the packers have a design for quick and easy deployment during the well construction. This design allows for faster and more cost-efficient operations.

Saltel expandable steel packer enhances cementing operations so that the annulus gets durable reinforcement for optimal annular seal. The Xpandable external casing packer is mainly helpful for cementing operations in cased holes and open holes.

Saltel Xpandable steel packers reduce the dangers of fluid/gas leakage, make well construction easier, and save money. This leads to lessened rig time and fewer materials.

Other applications for annular seal

In addition to these applications for annular seal, Xpandable Steel Packers are also suitable for the following.

  • During multistage multihole ball-drop fracturing, individual stages of the fracturing process are isolated to achieve better control over the process. The actuation of ball seats enhances the annular barriers between the fracturing stages. The packers, once expanded, stop fluid from flowing between stages.

This allows for more precise control over the amount of fluid and pressure that is applied to each stage. This helps to ensure that the fracturing process is completed efficiently and effectively. (Saltel Xpandable* – Frac Packer).

  • For long-term annulus zonal isolation requirements, the use of packers is a common method of completing an annular seal. Packers are placed in the annulus and expanded to form a seal between the tubing and the casing.
  • Compartmentalizing the reservoir (Saltel Xpandable* steel AZIP – Annular Zonal Isolation Packer).
  • Acid stimulation applications with Saltel Xpandable* steel AZIP – Annular Zonal Isolation Packer.
